Privacy Policy

Last updated April 2026

Liri is a lyrics app for vinyl record listeners. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep things simple because we have no interest in your data beyond making the app work.

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address. This is used only to authenticate you — we don't send marketing emails.

Your vinyl library. The albums you add to your library are stored on our servers so they sync across your devices.

Sync history. When Liri identifies a song, we save the track name, artist, album, and timestamp to build your play history. This is linked to your account.

Usage events. We log anonymised events (such as when a vinyl side is flipped) to understand how the app is being used. These are tied to your user ID but are never sold or shared.

Audio

When you tap Sync Lyrics, Liri uses your microphone to capture a short audio sample. This sample is sent to Apple's ShazamKit service to identify the song and your position within it. The audio is processed in real time and is not stored by Liri or Apple after the match is made.

Liri never records, stores, or transmits your audio for any other purpose.

Third-party services

Liri uses the following third-party services:

What we don't do

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and all associated data deleted, email us at hello@getliri.com and we'll take care of it promptly.

Children

Liri is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
